Doha-Qatar:UNESCO, AETCGS Launch Training Toolkits on Inclusive Education and AI in Gulf States and Yemen

The UNESCO Regional Office for the Gulf States and Yemen, in collaboration with the Arab Educational Training Centre for the Gulf States (AETCGS), has launched two specialized training toolkits aimed at enhancing inclusive education and integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into educational systems across the region.

The Inclusive Education Toolkit is designed to support Ministries of Education (MOEs) in creating equitable and accessible learning environments. It provides strategies and methodologies for educators to promote inclusivity, ensuring that students from diverse backgrounds and abilities receive quality education. This toolkit emphasizes the importance of tailoring teaching practices to meet the needs of all students, regardless of their individual circumstances.

On the other hand, the Artificial Intelligence and Education Toolkit is aimed at education policymakers and stakeholders. It offers foundational knowledge on how AI can be applied to enhance learning and educational outcomes. The toolkit also addresses ethical considerations in the use of AI, the role of generative AI, and the potential of AI to support inclusive practices within educational institutions.

Dr. Fatma Al-Maadheed, Director of AETCGS, noted that these toolkits align with the center’s mission to advance educational standards and foster innovation across the Gulf States and Yemen. She highlighted the role of UNESCO in strengthening knowledge-sharing and capacity-building in the region’s education sector.

Salah Khaled, UNESCO Representative to the Gulf States and Yemen, emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating, “This initiative is an important step toward equipping educators and policymakers with the tools necessary to enhance learning experiences across the region.” He also underscored the AI toolkit’s role in promoting ethical AI literacy and encouraging the responsible integration of AI technologies in educational systems.

As digital transformation continues to shape education globally, these toolkits will be instrumental in helping educators, institutions, and policymakers adopt inclusive practices. By leveraging AI solutions, they aim to improve learning outcomes and ensure that education is accessible to all students, contributing to the broader goal of achieving inclusive and sustainable education across the region.
