Doha, Qatar: Doha Bank and Mastercard have expanded their partnership with a new campaign allowing customers to make free international money transfers via the Doha Bank app. Announced at Web Summit Qatar 2025, this initiative aims to boost the adoption of digital transfer services. It aims to achieve this goal by waiving transaction fees for six months.
Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Fahad bin Faisal Al Thani, Group CEO of Doha Bank, highlighted the bank’s commitment to digital innovation and financial inclusion. He emphasized that free international transfers will remove barriers. As a result, cross-border payments will become more accessible and cost-effective.
Dimitrios Kokosioulis, Deputy CEO of Doha Bank, expressed excitement over the strengthened collaboration with Mastercard. He noted that the initiative enhances customer experience.
J K Khalil, Division President, East Arabia at Mastercard, reaffirmed the shared goal of simplifying cross-border payments and increasing accessibility in Qatar. He expressed confidence that the campaign will drive greater adoption of digital money transfer services.
The Doha Bank app remains the core platform for this initiative. It provides customers with secure, fast, and transparent international transactions. Powered by Mastercard Move, the service offers multiple payout methods. These include transfers to bank accounts, mobile wallets, and cash pickups at Mastercard’s global network of cash pickup locations.
