CEDA Pushes for Skilled Expat Workforce Amid Economic Growth

The Council of Economic and Development Affairs (CEDA) held a video meeting to discuss ways of improving workforce skills among foreign workers. Officials explained plans to make sure workers meet local job requirements.

The Ministry of Education, Ministry of Economy and Planning, and Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development gave a joint report. They shared updates on programs that check workers’ qualifications and skills before and after arriving in the country.

The program also works on improving workforce skills by improving labor market data and making entry rules clearer. Standardizing licenses will help increase efficiency and service quality in all sectors.

CEDA reviewed the Ministry of Economy and Planning’s quarterly report. It showed strong growth, with all economic sectors performing well. The report also looked at global trends, future forecasts, and factors driving growth.

The council also checked the third-quarter budget report. It showed continued support for development projects, government reforms, and financial stability. The report highlighted income diversification in line with Vision 2030.

The Ministry of Health updated the council on health sector changes. The second phase of reform will empower the Health Holding Company and the Center for National Health Insurance. This step will improve access to care, raise quality, and focus on prevention.

CEDA discussed knowledge and technology programs. Officials reported that the Saudipedia encyclopedia reached more users, added AI features, and boosted audience interaction. Search engine visibility rose 20 percent, and user engagement increased 70 percent.

Other topics included programs for infection control, food waste reduction, and health development tests. The council also reviewed real estate prices, energy use, trade data, and price indexes.

Finally, the council approved plans to support workforce growth and national projects. These steps aim to prepare workers for a modern economy and continue improving workforce skills.
