Bahrain’s Royal Medical Services Highlights Innovation at Scientific Research Day 2025

The Royal Medical Services in Bahrain recently hosted Scientific Research Day 2025, showcasing the latest medical research and innovations. This event emphasized the critical role of scientific research and innovation in enhancing healthcare quality. Doctors and researchers from hospitals and affiliated centers gathered to exchange ideas and present new findings.

Opening the event, the President of the Supreme Council of Health praised the Royal Medical Services’ achievements in research. He highlighted that scientific research and innovation is vital for advancing the health system. Moreover, he encouraged national researchers to continue developing solutions that improve patient care.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Health noted that research and innovation strengthen healthcare institutions. She focused on their role in evidence-based policies, improved treatment outcomes, and higher efficiency. She also commended the Crown Prince Center for Training and Medical Research for creating an environment that supports applied research and professional growth.

The Commander of the Royal Medical Services applauded the researchers for their dedication and creativity. He stressed that medical research forms the foundation for better healthcare. Additionally, he explained that this event helps Bahrain maintain its leadership in medical innovation.

This year’s event featured 209 research papers completed between 2024 and August 2025. Among these, fourteen papers were selected for oral presentations, while seventeen were displayed electronically. Topics included the BASSAL cardiac catheterization program, bio-scaffolds, artificial intelligence in medicine, machine learning, medical imaging, and fathers’ experiences during childbirth.

Discussion sessions and Q&A segments further enriched the program. Experts examined occupational health, environmental sustainability, radiology evaluations, physician performance models, and rare medical cases. Between 2022 and 2024, researchers submitted 317 papers, with 262 published, reflecting their ongoing commitment to medical advancement.

The event ended with awards recognizing top research projects. Captain Dr. Faris Nooruddin earned the Best Integrated Research Award, and Dr. Priya Das received the Best Inter-Institutional Research Collaboration Award. Other participants were also honored for their contributions.

Overall, Scientific Research Day 2025 highlighted the Royal Medical Services’ dedication to empowering researchers, fostering innovation, and strengthening Bahrain’s global position in healthcare.
