Bahrain’s Rising Taekwondo Champions Shine in Sharjah 2026

Bahrain’s rising taekwondo champions delivered a powerful statement at the Arab Women’s Clubs Games in Sharjah. The tournament ran from February 2 to 12 in the United Arab Emirates. Moreover, the results highlighted the steady growth of women’s combat sports in Bahrain.

Abdullah Issa Al-Duwai praised the athletes for their determination and discipline. He stressed that Bahrain’s rising taekwondo champions proved their strength on a major Arab stage. Furthermore, he noted that the players competed as part of the official Bahraini delegation. He added that their focus and preparation made the difference.

Al-Badi’ Club’s women’s team secured three medals during the competition. First, Fatima Kalawad captured the gold medal in the under 49kg category. She controlled her matches confidently and attacked with precision. Meanwhile, Hanan Al-Shuroqi earned the silver medal in the under 57kg division. She displayed speed and tactical awareness throughout her bouts. In addition, Sarah Jallab claimed bronze in the under 67kg category. She fought with resilience and maintained composure under pressure.

Al-Duwai explained that these victories reflect organized technical planning. He emphasized that coaches and administrators worked closely with the athletes. As a result, the team entered the tournament fully prepared. He also pointed to the athletes’ strong commitment during training camps.

Moreover, he highlighted the national support system behind combat sports. He stated that sports authorities continue to invest in youth development. Therefore, Bahrain’s rising taekwondo champions now compete with growing confidence across regional events. He also praised ongoing efforts to elevate taekwondo standards nationwide.

He further commended initiatives that empower women in sports. Al-Duwai explained that structured programs encourage female participation and leadership. Consequently, more Bahraini women now compete at elite regional levels. This progress, he said, strengthens Bahrain’s sporting presence in Arab competitions.

The federation president congratulated Al-Badi’ Club’s board and technical staff. He described the achievement as a proud milestone for the club. At the same time, he encouraged the athletes to aim for higher international goals. He expressed optimism about future tournaments and continued medal success.

Ultimately, Bahrain’s rising taekwondo champions returned home with momentum and belief. Their Sharjah performance signals steady progress in women’s taekwondo. With continued preparation and institutional backing, the team aims to expand its medal record in upcoming championships.
