Bahrain’s National Wheelchair Basketball Team Heads to Turkey for Training Camp

Bahrain’s national wheelchair basketball team heads to Turkey for training camp, aiming to sharpen skills ahead of the 9th West Asia Open Championship. The camp runs from July 1 to 12, 2025.

This camp plays a key role in the team’s physical and technical preparation. The players will undergo daily training sessions to boost their stamina and coordination. Coaches have structured an intensive program that addresses tactics, teamwork, as well as fitness.

Immediately after the camp, the team will travel to Jordan. From July 13 to 19, they will compete in the regional championship. This major tournament is hosted by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and brings together top teams from the region.

The national team includes players: Nabil Hamad Al-Dosari, Mohammed Ahmed Al-Maloud, Ahmed Abbas Mushaima, Mohammed Jassim Jaafar, Nassar Ali Al-Waqza, Ahmed Nader Nouh, Ali Ahmed Ramadan, Sameer Abdulsalam, Ahmed Jaafar Abdullah, Mohammed Jassim Nasser, and Hassan Khalid Al-Quraan.

Experienced technical and administrative delegation also supports the team. The group includes Hussein Al-Aswad as head of delegation, Hussein Madan as team manager, Hamad Ali Mohammed as coach, and Jaafar Abdulnabi and Ibrahim Khalil Zubari as administrators.

Additionally, Bahrain’s national wheelchair athletes prepare in Turkey with intensive training to boost performance and proudly represent the country. The Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation and Bahrain Paralympic Committee back the team with full support.

Their joint efforts aim to empower athletes with disabilities and provide ideal training conditions. Moreover, these initiatives also help showcase Bahrain’s continued investment in inclusive sports development.

This camp marks a milestone in the national team’s journey toward regional excellence. However, players and staff remain focused on delivering their best performance on the international stage.
