Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Stresses Peace and Security at Antalya Diplomacy Forum

Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain’s Foreign Minister, took center stage at the 2025 Antalya Diplomacy Forum. His speech focused on key regional concerns, especially peace, counterterrorism, and international cooperation. Throughout his remarks, he underlined Bahrain’s commitment to global peace, a phrase that resonated in all his messages.

To start, he highlighted Bahrain’s strong stance against terrorism. According to Al Zayani, the threat remains very real across the region. He condemned the Houthi militia for targeting civilians in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Moreover, he stressed the urgency of united international action to curb such attacks. In addition, he accused Iran of supporting armed groups that destabilize Gulf nations. Several intercepted weapons shipments, he said, prove these dangers are ongoing. Without hesitation, he reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to global peace in fighting these threats.

Furthermore, Al Zayani warned the world not to underestimate ISIS. Despite its territorial losses, the group still inspires acts of violence globally. He called for constant vigilance and greater intelligence sharing among nations. Clearly, unity is key in defeating extremist ideologies.

On the diplomatic front, Al Zayani spoke proudly of Bahrain’s role in promoting peace. For instance, he referenced the successful hosting of the Arab Summit. He also mentioned Bahrain’s focus on human rights and sustainable development. Additionally, he emphasized key agreements with the U.S. and U.K., which aim to boost both defense and economic ties.

When speaking on the Abraham Accords, he described Bahrain’s participation as a courageous step. These agreements, he noted, promote peaceful dialogue and long-term solutions. He firmly supported the two-state solution for the Israel-Palestine conflict. Rather than conflict, he argued, diplomacy is the path to lasting peace.

To improve diplomatic efficiency, Al Zayani introduced a new platform. This initiative will track Bahrain’s bilateral relations worldwide. As a result, embassies and the foreign ministry can better coordinate their efforts. Stronger ties, he believes, lead to more effective international cooperation.

Lastly, he highlighted Bahrain’s push for economic diplomacy. Attracting investments, creating jobs, and boosting innovation remain national priorities. Turning Bahrain into a regional trade hub is a key goal. In conclusion, he stressed that sustainable development must go hand in hand with security.

From regional stability to global outreach, his message echoed a consistent theme. Bahrain’s commitment to global peace stands strong. Through diplomacy, cooperation, and resilience, Bahrain hopes to help shape a safer future.
