Bahraini Pilgrims Begin Journey Home After Hajj

Bahraini pilgrims have begun departing Mecca after completing the annual Hajj pilgrimage, with officials overseeing arrangements for their return through Saudi Arabia’s main travel hubs.

Sheikh Adnan bin Abdullah Al-Qattan, head of Bahrain’s Hajj mission, said authorities were continuing to monitor conditions for pilgrims during the departure phase to ensure travel procedures are completed efficiently and according to schedule.

He said coordination was ongoing between Bahraini Hajj campaigns and Saudi authorities to organise the movement of travellers through King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and the King Fahd Causeway linking Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

According to Al-Qattan, cooperation between organisers and officials throughout the pilgrimage season contributed to the smooth movement of pilgrims between the holy sites and supported the implementation of operational plans.

Saudi Arabia hosts millions of Muslims annually during Hajj, one of Islam’s central religious obligations, and Gulf states typically deploy dedicated missions to supervise the welfare and logistics of their citizens during the pilgrimage.

The Bahraini official also praised the organisational and service measures provided by Saudi authorities this year, saying they helped pilgrims complete their rituals with ease and reassurance.

The return of pilgrims marks the final stage of the Hajj season for Bahrain’s delegation, following days of coordinated transport, accommodation and healthcare support for worshippers in the kingdom’s licensed campaigns.
