Bahrain Showcases Global Leadership in Motorsports as the American Chamber of Commerce in Bahrain (AmCham-Bahrain) hosted a high-profile business networking luncheon. The event featured Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, CEO of the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), as the keynote speaker. It gathered leaders from various sectors, including government, finance, and business, highlighting Bahrain’s prominent role in the global motorsports scene.
Khalid Humaidan, Governor of the Central Bank of Bahrain, graced the event as the guest of honor. The luncheon was attended by numerous leaders from the banking sector and major companies. During his address, Shaikh Salman discussed the Bahrain International Circuit’s rich history and its instrumental role in establishing Bahrain as a global motorsport destination.
Shaikh Salman emphasized how the Bahrain Grand Prix has become a key fixture in the Formula 1 calendar. He also highlighted the circuit’s commitment to continuous innovation, which helps elevate Bahrain’s standing in international motorsport. He specifically pointed out the strengthening relationship between Bahrain and the United States, including Liberty Media’s ownership of the Formula 1 Group. This relationship continues to grow, with American brands like Cadillac joining the sport in the upcoming season.
Qais Al-Zu’bi, President of AmCham-Bahrain, also took the stage to acknowledge Shaikh Salman’s insights. Al-Zu’bi recognized motorsports’ role in driving tourism, business, and economic diversification in Bahrain. He noted that the Kingdom’s success in hosting global sporting events has enhanced its international standing. Additionally, Al-Zu’bi highlighted the growing economic opportunities that the sport brings to the region.
