Bahrain’s Defence Force said on Wednesday that its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed a number of missiles and drones launched from Iran toward the kingdom.
In a statement, the General Command accused Iran of continuing what it described as a “hostile approach” through attacks targeting civilians and residential areas in Bahrain.
The military said its defence systems responded with a high level of readiness and successfully intercepted the aerial threats, while confirming that all units remained on heightened alert to protect the country.
Authorities urged residents not to approach suspicious objects or debris that may have resulted from the interceptions and called on the public to report any remains immediately.
The statement added that specialised engineering teams were fully prepared to handle and safely dispose of any missile or drone remnants.
Bahrain’s Defence Force also condemned the use of missiles and drones against civilians and private property, describing it as a violation of international humanitarian law.
