The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture in Bahrain hosted a powerful event to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The initiative, organized by the Equal Opportunities Committee and the Social Committee, aimed to spread awareness and encourage early detection saves lives among women and the wider community.

Engineer Lamia Al-Fadala, Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Committee, opened the event with an inspiring speech. Al-Fadala also said that early detection saves lives and gives women hope, strength, and the power to fight back. She explained that awareness helps women make informed decisions and encourages regular health checkups.
To enhance understanding, the event featured a lecture by Dr. Laila Hassan, a surgical specialist at King Hamad American Mission Hospital. She discussed how self-examination and regular screenings can prevent advanced cases of breast cancer. Dr. Hassan also shared practical advice on recognizing symptoms early and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Moreover, attendees benefited from clinical examination booths and personalized medical consultations. Health professionals provided on-site guidance and distributed leaflets explaining self-examination steps and recommended screening timelines.
