Bahrain Marks Successful Ashura Season With Official Praise

The Governor of Bahrain’s Northern Governorate has praised the successful organisation of this year’s Ashura season, crediting close coordination between government authorities, security agencies and community organisers for ensuring the observance concluded safely and smoothly.

Hassan Abdullah Al Madani expressed appreciation for the support provided by King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, saying their backing helped facilitate the religious season while reinforcing the Kingdom’s commitment to coexistence, tolerance and the protection of religious freedoms.

He also commended the efforts of the Ministry of Interior and other government agencies for implementing security and organisational measures that enabled Ashura events to take place in an orderly and secure environment.

Al Madani thanked organisers of mourning processions for their cooperation with the governorate and relevant authorities, noting that their adherence to official guidelines contributed to the efficient management of events throughout the season.

He said the successful conclusion of Ashura reflected effective coordination between public institutions and civil society, describing it as an example of community partnership that supports social harmony while ensuring public safety and respect for religious practices.

The governor added that the experience reinforces Bahrain’s efforts to promote peaceful coexistence and strengthen cooperation between state institutions and local communities during major religious occasions.
