Bahrain reaffirmed its commitment to promoting dialogue and peace during the 16th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly. The event highlighted the Kingdom’s active role in strengthening cooperation among Asian parliaments.
The session, hosted in Bahrain, focused on “The Role of Asian Parliaments in Promoting Dialogue Among Cultures and Civilizations in Asia: Opportunities, Challenges, and Future Paths.” Delegates included chairs of Gulf and Asian legislative councils and members of participating parliaments.
Bahraini leaders stressed the importance of promoting dialogue and peace through cultural exchange, tolerance, and international cooperation. They said these efforts build understanding and strengthen humanitarian values across the region.
The Kingdom has consistently supported global efforts to end conflicts through negotiation and dialogue. It has championed programs that promote religious freedoms, intercultural understanding, and initiatives to combat hate speech. Educational programs at the King Hamad Global Centre for Tolerance and Coexistence empower youth to participate in these efforts.
Bahrain also highlighted its support for Palestinian rights. It backs diplomatic solutions and the two-state approach while welcoming international recognition of Palestine. The Kingdom emphasizes justice and fairness for all parties involved.
Leaders expressed gratitude to nations that supported Bahrain’s election to the UN Security Council. They reaffirmed the Kingdom’s commitment to regional peace, human rights, and multilateral cooperation. Bahrain pledged to continue being a voice for justice in Arab, Islamic, and Asian matters.
