Bahrain Journalists Association’s Role in Promoting Freedom and National Development

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the Bahrain Institute for Political Development, Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi, recently highlighted the critical role the Bahrain Journalists Association plays in promoting freedom of opinion and expression. He emphasized that this role is vital for strengthening Bahrain’s national identity. Under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Kingdom of Bahrain continues its journey of comprehensive development. This journey is supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.

In a speech during the Bahrain Journalists Association’s silver jubilee celebration, Dr. Al Rumaihi extended his congratulations to the Association’s Chairman, Board of Directors, and its members. He praised their continuous efforts to serve as a unified platform for journalists. Over the past 25 years, the Association has become an essential part of the Kingdom’s development process. It contributes not only to the media field but also to broader national objectives.

Dr. Al Rumaihi noted that the Bahrain Journalists Association promotes professional values and responsible freedom of expression. It stands as a defender of these principles, advocating for national action and reflecting the aspirations of the Bahraini people. Its impact can be seen in how Bahrain’s journalism mirrors the country’s achievements and serves as a voice for citizens. By defending these values, the Association strengthens Bahrain’s democracy and national unity.

The Chairman further commended the Association for fostering a culture of dialogue and openness in Bahraini society. He emphasized its role in the country’s political development, particularly in expanding popular participation in decision-making. The Association actively participates in establishing principles of respect for pluralism, community partnership, and political development. Thus, it enhances democratic practices in Bahrain.

Dr. Al Rumaihi concluded by reiterating the importance of the Bahrain Journalists Association in advancing the media landscape in Bahrain. He affirmed the Bahrain Institute for Political Development’s ongoing commitment to collaborating with the Association in efforts to enhance media discourse. Through these partnerships, Bahrain’s national culture and political development will continue to thrive. This will benefit both the media and the wider community.
