Bahrain Jails 12 Over Support For Iranian Attacks

Bahrain has sentenced 12 people to 10 years in prison each after they were convicted of supporting and promoting attacks linked to Iran, according to the High Criminal Court.

The court said the individuals were found guilty of “supporting, encouraging, and endorsing” what it described as Iranian attacks on the Gulf state. They were also accused of collecting and sharing sensitive information, photographing restricted sites, and spreading false news and rumours online.

In a statement carried by the state news agency BNA, prosecutors said investigations revealed the accused had used social media platforms to circulate material deemed harmful to national security during a period of heightened regional tension.

Authorities added that forensic analysis of seized electronic devices supported the charges, while witness testimonies were also heard during the investigation.

The case comes amid increased instability in the region following a series of escalations involving Iran and its regional rivals. Gulf states have remained on alert as diplomatic and security tensions continue to evolve.

Officials did not provide further details on the identities of those convicted.
