Bahrain Islamic Bank Sponsors AAOIFI 23rd Annual Shari’a Conference

Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB), a leader in Islamic banking solutions in Bahrain, proudly sponsors the AAOIFI 23rd Annual Shari’a Conference. The conference will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Manama on April 20 and 21, 2025. This important event will bring together top Shari’a scholars, regulators, and Islamic finance industry leaders from across the globe.

The event will focus on key topics in Islamic banking and finance. A variety of specialized discussions will explore issues like Islamic financial transactions, breach of agreements, and international Islamic finance law. Additionally, the conference will cover contract systems, reinsurance, and Shari’a rulings.

By sponsoring the conference, BisB strengthens its role in promoting Islamic banking excellence. Moreover, the bank also sponsored the 3rd BisB Forum on Islamic Banking Transactions in November 2024. During the opening ceremony of the conference, the bank honored the winners of this forum. Essam Mohammed Al Bastaki received the first-place prize: a postgraduate scholarship for his research in Islamic finance. In addition, Mohammed Yasser Al Khudri won second place and earned a one-year internship with the bank’s Sharia Supervisory Board.

Fatima Al Alawi, BisB’s CEO, explained the significance of the sponsorship. “We proudly sponsor this event, which supports Bahrain’s position as a global leader in Islamic banking,” she said. “Through our sponsorship, we aim to strengthen the growth of the Islamic finance sector in the Kingdom.” She also emphasized BisB’s commitment to empowering the next generation of scholars and professionals to drive innovation and excellence in the industry.

The conference will feature speeches from influential global experts. It will create an ideal platform for participants to exchange insights, experiences, and ideas to address pressing challenges in the industry.

Through its continued sponsorship, BisB reinforces its commitment to advancing scientific research and nurturing young talent in Islamic finance. The bank remains dedicated to supporting initiatives that drive sustainable growth and innovation in the Islamic banking sector.
