Bahrain’s Ministry of Works has completed final preparations for the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2025. The international event is set for April 11 to 13, drawing global attention and thousands of visitors.
Enhanced Infrastructure for a Global Event
In collaboration with the Bahrain International Circuit, the Ministry focused on ensuring smooth and safe traffic for Formula 1. This involved upgrading roads, drainage networks, and overall traffic systems to handle increased movement around the venue.
Moreover, the Ministry added 1,762 new parking spaces to increase total capacity at the circuit. This aims to accommodate more vehicles and reduce congestion during peak hours. In addition, three temporary pedestrian bridges were installed to support safe foot traffic across busy roads.
Maintenance and Traffic Safety Efforts
Several maintenance tasks were completed in preparation for the event. The Ministry repainted road markings, sidewalks, and parking zones. Sand parking areas were clearly marked, and damaged signs were cleaned or replaced. These improvements further support the goal of ensuring smooth and safe traffic for Formula 1.
Traffic cones, lane closure materials, and warning signs were placed throughout the surrounding area. These actions, taken with support from the Ministry of Interior’s General Directorate of Traffic, are designed to maintain traffic order.
Drainage Systems Fully Prepared
To avoid any disruption from unexpected weather, stormwater systems received full maintenance. Crews cleaned manholes along Bahrain Bay Street. Additionally, pumping stations were checked, and backup generators were installed to guarantee constant operation.
Field Teams Ready for Action
The Ministry has deployed 24/7 field teams to respond quickly to any emergency. These teams are in contact with all relevant authorities to act immediately if needed. Their work directly contributes to ensuring smooth and safe traffic for Formula 1.
The Ministry urged drivers to follow safety guidelines. With everyone’s cooperation, Bahrain aims to host a successful and safe event for all attendees.
