Bahrain Empowers Entrepreneurs Through “Economic Decision Makers” Program

The Bahrain Small and Medium Enterprises Development Society concluded the seventh “Economic Decision Makers” program on Saturday at the Art Rotana Hotel in Amwaj Islands. The event gathered officials, business leaders, and representatives from Ahlia University to celebrate a major step toward economic growth in Bahrain.

The three-month program, launched in July, aimed to equip participants with practical knowledge for business and entrepreneurship. Throughout the sessions, experts delivered workshops and lectures that focused on real-world economic decision-making and leadership skills.

Ahmed Sabah Al Salloum, President of the Society, expressed pride in the program’s success. He said the initiative helped participants face challenges while identifying new business opportunities. Moreover, it encouraged young Bahrainis to pursue entrepreneurship and contribute directly to economic growth in Bahrain.

Al Salloum thanked the Shura Council Chairman for his continued support. He also praised Ahlia University for helping design the program and selecting expert trainers. This collaboration, he noted, strengthened the link between education and the private sector, which is essential for developing skilled talent.

In addition, Al Salloum confirmed that the Society will continue offering the program every year. He said the results clearly show improved performance among emerging projects. Furthermore, the initiative aligns with Bahrain’s vision of building a flexible and competitive private sector that meets market demands.

The Society also plans to expand cooperation with universities and both government and private institutions. Through these partnerships, it hopes to design more advanced training programs that boost innovation and encourage ongoing economic growth in Bahrain.

Khalid Mohammed Najibi, First Vice President of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, described the program as a model of teamwork between academia, civil society, and the private sector. He emphasized that developing youth and entrepreneurs helps create a sustainable and knowledge-driven economy that matches Bahrain’s long-term vision.

The “Economic Decision Makers” program continues to inspire young leaders, promoting innovation, knowledge, and entrepreneurship. It reflects Bahrain’s strong commitment to empowering its people and strengthening the national economy through education and collaboration.
