Bahrain Blind Friendship Association Highlights Arab Cooperation for the Blind in Jordan

Bahrain sent a strong delegation to the Arab Union of the Blind meetings held in Jordan. The visit coincided with World Sight Day and International White Cane Day, emphasizing awareness for people with visual impairments across the region. The Bahrain Blind Friendship Association played a significant role in this delegation.

Representatives from many Arab countries joined the sessions to share experiences and explore ways to empower blind individuals. The Bahrain delegation actively joined in discussions and exchanged ideas with other member organizations. The involvement of the Bahrain Blind Friendship Association was notable in these exchanges.

During the event, the delegation delivered a notable opening address. A poem titled “Horizons of Insight” was recited, referring to the importance of regional cooperation and joint initiatives for blind communities.

Several working papers were presented by Arab organizations, coordinated by the Union’s vice president. In addition, a symbolic white cane march took place in Amman to showcase unity and support for the rights of visually impaired people.

The delegation expressed gratitude to the Arab Union leadership and fellow participants. They commended everyone’s efforts in promoting education, advocacy, and inclusion for blind individuals. The Bahrain Blind Friendship Association leaders were particularly thankful for the collaborative atmosphere.

Bahrain has been a pioneer in the Arab Union of the Blind since 2007. With the League of Arab States’ support, the country continues to contribute to initiatives that strengthen local and regional support networks.

Through such international events, Bahrain expands opportunities for blind people while encouraging collaboration between local organizations and regional partners. These efforts enhance access to resources, training, and services for those with visual impairments.

Moreover, the delegation emphasized long-term plans to develop programs promoting social inclusion, empowerment, and awareness campaigns. This approach helps create an environment where blind people can participate fully in society.

Overall, Bahrain’s active role in the Arab Union of the Blind demonstrates its ongoing commitment to social responsibility, accessibility, and empowerment. The Bahrain Blind Friendship Association continues to set an example for Arab countries in supporting people with disabilities.
