The Awqaf Summer Training Program empowers Qatari youth with essential skills and prepares them for future careers. Recently, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs launched this program to help students use their summer break effectively.
During an orientation event, 77 high school and university students joined the initiative. Organized by the Human Resources Department, this event introduced students to the program’s goals and detailed activities. Notably, the training runs from July 6 to 31, offering a full month of practical experience.
Moreover, Mohammed Abdulwahab Al Shaibani, Assistant Director of the Human Resources Department, explained the importance of this initiative. He emphasized that the Awqaf Summer Training Program empowers Qatari youthby strengthening both administrative and practical skills. In addition, it introduces participants to the Ministry’s vision, mission, and community services.
Furthermore, Salwa Abdullah Al Badr Al Mutawa’ah, Head of the Training and Administrative Development Section, outlined the program’s structure. This year, 35 male and 42 female students are participating, coming from secondary and university levels. They will train in four departments: Information Systems, Religious Call and Guidance, Zakat Affairs, and General Department of Endowments.
Additionally, students can choose their preferred department, matching their interests and future career goals. Department officials will directly supervise them, which ensures real-world learning.
Importantly, the training covers key skills such as report writing, archiving, data preparation, and using computer applications. Students will also learn effective communication, telephone etiquette, and electronic archiving systems.
Al Mutawa’ah highlighted that using artificial intelligence tools for preparing reports and presentations is crucial. Thus, students will improve their projects and stay aligned with modern digital demands.
Each week, officials conduct evaluations of student performance. These reviews focus on diligence, discipline, teamwork, creativity, and workplace interaction. Afterward, final assessments determine their overall growth and achievements.
Ultimately, the Awqaf Summer Training Program empowers Qatari youth to embrace values of initiative, productivity, and professionalism. By supporting Qatar National Vision 2030, the program builds a strong generation ready to succeed in the labor market.
