The ASSP Kuwait HSSE conference concluded with strong praise after uniting more than 500 professionals from across the safety, environmental, and energy sectors. Held on May 7–8, 2025, under the patronage of Kuwait’s oil minister, the 12th International Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Loss Prevention Professional Development Conference marked a major success.
Organized by the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) – Kuwait Chapter, the event centered on the theme “Advancing HSSE: Synergizing Technology, Sustainability and Environmental Stewardship.” Overall, the gathering offered a platform for HSE leaders and innovators to share breakthroughs and best practices.
Nouf Behbehani, Acting Director of Kuwait’s Environment Public Authority, opened the event. Her keynote speech emphasized the vital link between sustainability and industrial safety. Throughout the two days, attendees joined high-level panels, symposiums, workshops, and technical sessions. These covered urgent topics in occupational health, fire prevention, risk management, and digital security.
One highlight of the ASSP Kuwait HSSE conference was its emphasis on women’s leadership in HSSE. A dedicated panel explored how gender diversity enhances safety culture. Another key session examined cybersecurity risks in the energy industry, especially in increasingly digital environments.
With over 50 technical papers and e-posters presented, the event delivered fresh insights across sectors. Additionally, more than 20 companies participated in the exhibition, showcasing cutting-edge safety technology and innovative risk-reduction solutions.
Interactive sessions like the HSE Champion 2025 quiz and pre- and post-conference workshops added a dynamic learning experience. These sessions engaged professionals in real-world scenarios and collaborative exercises, reinforcing core safety principles.
The conference earned endorsements from major organizations including Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC), World Safety Organization (WSO), and Gulf Downstream Association (GDA). Additionally, multiple sponsors backed the event, contributing to its reach and impact.
ASSP Kuwait Chapter Vice President Mohammad Yusuff A closed the conference by thanking all contributors. He stressed the importance of knowledge exchange, innovation, and global cooperation in advancing safety goals.
