The Amir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, attended an official dinner banquet hosted by Indian President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan Palace on Tuesday. The event was held in honor of HH the Amir and his accompanying delegation. It marked a significant moment in the strengthening of Qatar-India relations.
In her opening remarks, President Murmu welcomed HH the Amir. She expressed appreciation for his visit and highlighted the strong diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations.
HH the Amir also delivered a speech. He emphasized the historical and strategic depth of Qatar-India relations, particularly in energy cooperation, trade, and investment. He underscored the significance of the newly signed strategic partnership agreement, which aims to enhance collaboration across multiple sectors. HH the Amir also commended the Indian community in Qatar for its contributions to the country’s development.
The banquet was attended by Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, along with members of the official Qatari delegation and business leaders. On the Indian side, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior government officials, and prominent business figures were present.
