Qatar’s rally legend Nasser Al Attiyah is set to compete for a historic 17th title at the Jordan Rally 2025, part of the FIA Middle East Rally Championship (MERC). The event will run from May 29 to 31, covering the scenic yet challenging terrain of the Dead Sea and Jordan Valley.
Organised by Jordan Motorsport, this fourth round of the championship also counts toward the new Junior and Master Drivers’ categories. It features 12 gravel stages spread over two days, totaling 196.30 competitive kilometers.
Al Attiyah is no stranger to success in this event. He has claimed victory in 11 of the last 12 editions, making him the favorite once again. However, competition will be fierce with contenders like Abdullah Al-Rawahi and Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari pushing for the top spot.
Rally headquarters will be based at the Movenpick Resort and Spa Dead Sea. Friday’s stages include Tal Hilali, Karameh, and Baptism – each run twice. Saturday’s action features the Panorama, Suwayma, and Wadi Nar stages. The final run through Wadi Nar will serve as the Power Stage, offering extra points.
Beyond the top-tier drivers, Oman’s Zakariya Al-Aamri leads in MERC2, while Qatar’s Rashid Al-Mohannadi and Nasser Khalifa Al-Atya lead MERC4 and the Master category, respectively.
With entries closing on May 15, preparations are in full swing. The event is supported by Zain Jordan, Hala, Bliss FM, and Toyota Gazoo Racing Jordan.
Al Attiyah Jordan Rally participation continues to inspire motorsport fans across the region, blending elite competition with cultural heritage.
