AI in Precision Medicine Drives Healthcare Innovation in Qatar

Msheireb Museums and Sidra Medicine recently hosted the third session of the 2025 Science Café series at Bin Jelmood House. The session, titled “The Promise of AI in Precision Medicine: A Healthcare Revolution in Qatar,” gathered experts to discuss how artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping healthcare delivery in Qatar.

The event explored the latest advances in AI-assisted medicine. Experts examined machine learning applications in diagnostics, personalised treatment protocols, and the ethical challenges of AI in healthcare. Furthermore, the session highlighted Qatar’s leadership in integrating AI with genomic medicine and digital health solutions.

Prof. Khalid Fakhro, Chief Research Officer at Sidra Medicine, said Qatar’s investment in AI-driven precision medicine positions the country as a global innovator. “Sidra Medicine is building comprehensive datasets through disease cohorts and collaborations. When combined with AI, these datasets unlock new insights into disease and treatment,” he added.

Abdulla Al Naama, General Manager of Msheireb Museums, described the Science Café as a key platform connecting scientific progress with public understanding. He emphasized the importance of such discussions to ensure technology benefits the wider community.

The session included a panel featuring Dr. Muneera Al-Qahtani, Dr. Mitch Stotland, Dr. Madeeha Kamal, Dr. Amr Metwally, and Dr. Yosra Mekki. Additionally, exhibitors from companies such as Vraxa, Biotech Medical, Avey, and SaVest showcased AI and advanced medical technology innovations.
