UAE Eid Al Adha 2025 Holidays Announced for Private Sector Workers

The UAE Eid Al Adha 2025 holidays have been officially announced for the private sector. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) confirmed a four-day break starting Thursday, June 5.

This holiday includes Arafah Day on 9 Dhul Hijjah and continues through Eid Al Adha until Sunday, June 8. Private sector employees will enjoy the extended weekend, with work resuming on Monday, June 9, 2025.

The announcement came after the crescent moon of Dhul Hijjah was sighted on Tuesday evening. UAE’s Astronomy Centre reported multiple confirmations of the sighting. This marked the start of Dhul Hijjah on Wednesday, May 28.

Public sector employees will also receive the same days off. This is due to the UAE’s unified holiday policy. The policy ensures both public and private sector workers benefit equally throughout the year.

Eid Al Adha, known as the Festival of Sacrifice, holds deep spiritual significance. It honors the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. Families observe the festival with special prayers and acts of charity.

Many residents also perform the traditional sacrifice of livestock. The meat is distributed among relatives, neighbors, and those in need. The celebration is marked by community gatherings and reflection.

This year’s unified holiday is expected to boost domestic travel and spending. Many residents may use the break for family outings, local tourism, or quiet celebration at home.

Authorities urge the public to observe the spirit of the occasion. They also encourage safe practices during public gatherings and animal sacrifices.

With the UAE Eid Al Adha 2025 holidays announced, businesses and employees can now plan ahead. The consistent holiday schedule reflects the country’s commitment to work-life balance and equal treatment for all sectors.
