Kuwait Participates in GCC Military Terminology Coordination Meeting

Kuwait actively contributed to the 66th Coordination Seminar on Unifying Military Terms and Concepts, held on May 13–14 in Riyadh. Brigadier General (Navy) Mohammed Ahmed Al-Khamees, Director of Joint Military Education at the Military Education Authority, led the Kuwaiti delegation to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) meeting.

During the two-day seminar, attendees emphasized the urgent need to update and unify operational military terminology among GCC member states. The goal is to ensure that all armed forces in the region operate under shared concepts and standards.

Brigadier Al-Khamees highlighted the importance of joint terminology for regional military readiness. He stressed that using a unified military language improves coordination during joint operations and regional defense initiatives. He added that cooperation in military education and doctrine development enhances mutual trust and understanding.

The GCC military seminar featured expert-led discussions, technical briefings, and strategic workshops. These sessions tackled the challenges of inconsistent terminology and explored methods to implement standardized language across training programs and operations.

Representatives from all GCC countries agreed on a roadmap to finalize an updated glossary of military terms. This glossary will be distributed to all defense institutions within the Gulf region. The attendees committed to reviewing it annually and integrating it into joint military exercises.

The seminar closed with a clear message: military terminology unification is essential for boosting operational synergy. Experts repeated the phrase military terminology unification three times during their final remarks to emphasize its strategic importance.

Through this initiative, the GCC aims to develop a stronger, more unified defense posture. The collaboration represents another step toward regional security and military excellence.
