Standard Chartered hosted a high-level luncheon in Doha, aiming to boost Hong Kong business ties with the Middle East. The event took place as part of a business delegation led by H E John Lee, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), in collaboration with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC).
Moreover, the gathering welcomed Dr Peter Lam, Chairman of the HKTDC, and other key figures including Rola Abu Manneh, CEO of Standard Chartered for the UAE, Middle East, and Pakistan. Local Qatari business leaders also joined the event to exchange insights and explore emerging opportunities.
During the trip, Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong) Limited signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Fosun International Limited. As a result, the two parties agreed to collaborate on new business ventures across the Middle East.
Mary Huen, CEO for Hong Kong and Greater China & North Asia at Standard Chartered, stated that the event underlined Hong Kong’s strategic role as a “super-connector.” In addition, she emphasized the bank’s commitment to supporting clients through tailored financial solutions.
