Qatar Central Bank Governor Meets Starwood Capital CEO at Global Conference

The Qatar Central Bank Governor has continued Qatar’s high-level global financial outreach. He met top investment leaders in the United States.

On the sidelines of the 2025 Milken Institute Global Conference in Los Angeles, Qatar Central Bank Governor and Chairman of Qatar Investment Authority, Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saoud Al Thani, met Barry Sternlicht. He is the Chairman and CEO of Starwood Capital Group.

The conference took place from May 4 to May 7. It attracted top financial experts, policymakers, and business leaders from around the world.

During the meeting, Sheikh Bandar and Sternlicht discussed major trends shaping global finance. They also explored investment opportunities and cooperation between Qatar and international financial institutions.

This dialogue reflects Qatar’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and maintaining its role as a key global investor.

The Qatar Central Bank Governor emphasized Qatar’s focus on innovation, regulatory development, and financial sustainability. He pointed out the importance of engaging with leading global investors to exchange ideas and track emerging financial trends.

Meanwhile, Barry Sternlicht welcomed the opportunity to strengthen ties with Qatari institutions. He highlighted Starwood Capital’s interest in growing collaboration with strategic international partners like Qatar.

This meeting adds to a series of global interactions by Qatari financial leaders. It is aimed at boosting economic cooperation and investment flows.
