Qatar Smart Security Partnership: MoI and Cisco Systems Sign Strategic Agreement

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) and Cisco Systems have officially launched a Qatar smart security partnership through a signed Letter of Intent. This strategic move reflects the country’s growing focus on digital transformation and intelligent infrastructure in public safety.

The signing ceremony was attended by Minister of Interior and Commander of Lekhwiya, Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Cisco’s Chairman and CEO, Chuck Robbins, also participated, along with top officials from both parties.

The agreement aims to advance Qatar’s national security by integrating artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and digital communication systems. Through this Qatar smart security partnership, the Ministry seeks to enhance operational efficiency and future-proof its services.

Brigadier Jassim Al Buhashim Al Sayed, Director General of Communications and Information Systems, signed the agreement on behalf of MoI. David Meads, Cisco’s Vice President for the Middle East, Africa, Romania, and CIS, signed for Cisco Systems.

Additionally, the deal emphasizes knowledge exchange. Cisco will share advanced technologies and support local teams through training and capacity-building programs. This approach ensures the Qatar smart security partnership brings lasting impact.

Moreover, the collaboration will help modernize internal systems while keeping national security at the forefront. MoI will leverage Cisco’s expertise to upgrade platforms across departments, enabling smarter responses and real-time coordination.

This agreement underlines Qatar’s strategy to engage world-class companies to meet its national vision goals. It reflects a unified effort to create safer, digitally enabled public services.
