Bahrain’s Shura Council Highlights Role in South-South Dialogue Forum

Bahrain’s Shura Council concluded its participation in the third South-South Parliamentary Dialogue Forum held in Rabat, Morocco. The event, which ended Tuesday evening, brought together high-level representatives from Arab and African parliaments. It focused on building partnerships to address global challenges.

The delegation was led by Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Speaker of Bahrain’s Shura Council. The forum emphasized the importance of strengthening regional cooperation to achieve peace, stability, and shared development. This message resonated through all discussions and outcomes.

Organized by Morocco’s House of Councillors and the Association of Senates and Shura Councils in Africa and the Arab World, the forum promoted open dialogue. Delegates discussed ways to improve economic openness, regional integration, and interregional partnerships. They also explored the impact of new global challenges on international cooperation.

Moreover, the Rabat Declaration was issued at the forum’s conclusion. This statement reinforced commitments to strengthening regional cooperation through logistical connectivity and joint development strategies. Delegates supported successful initiatives in Africa, the Arab region, Asia, and Latin America.

Speakers emphasized the vital role of parliamentary dialogue in advancing peace and development. They also encouraged legislative support for entrepreneurship and innovation, especially in artificial intelligence and technology sectors. This reflects a shared vision for forward-thinking governance.

Additionally, Bahrain’s participation showed strong support for unity among countries of the Global South. The council endorsed the need for interregional cooperation that respects national sovereignty and territorial integrity. Bahrain also backed efforts to build inclusive economies and invest in youth-driven innovation.

Also, the forum included deep discussions on security, environment, and social progress. Participants aligned on joint solutions and long-term collaboration. Notably, they called for greater involvement of national parliaments in global development goals.

In conclusion, Bahrain’s Shura Council reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening regional cooperation. By joining hands with southern nations, Bahrain continues to play a leading role in regional dialogue.
