Saudi Arabia Urges De-escalation as India-Pakistan Tensions Escalate

Saudi Arabia voiced deep concern on Wednesday as India-Pakistan tensions escalate following deadly violence in Kashmir.
The Kingdom called for restraint and renewed diplomatic efforts to resolve the growing border crisis.

In an official statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged both sides to avoid further escalation.
Saudi Arabia emphasized the importance of dialogue and peaceful solutions to preserve regional peace and security.

Riyadh highlighted the principles of good neighborliness and urged cooperation for the benefit of both nations.
India-Pakistan tensions escalate after an April 22 attack in Indian-administered Kashmir killed 26 people.

Gunmen opened fire in the tourist town of Pahalgam, triggering accusations and threats between New Delhi and Islamabad.
India said the attack had “cross-border” links, implying Pakistani involvement.

Pakistan denied any role and offered to support an independent investigation into the incident.
Islamabad warned that India may launch a military strike within 24 to 36 hours.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said Pakistan has “credible intelligence” about India’s possible military action.
He described India’s accusations as “baseless and concocted.”

Pakistan stated any military aggression would be met with a decisive response.
“Responsibility for escalation will lie with India,” Tarar said in a statement on X.

As India-Pakistan tensions escalate, both sides have suspended key bilateral arrangements.
New Delhi halted the Indus Waters Treaty, ending decades of cooperation over shared water resources.

Islamabad condemned the move, calling it irresponsible and provocative.
Both countries have also closed border crossings and downgraded diplomatic ties.

India-Pakistan tensions escalate at a time when global powers are focused on conflicts elsewhere.
Analysts warn that unchecked escalation between the nuclear-armed neighbors could destabilize the entire region.

Saudi Arabia’s appeal joins broader international efforts to defuse the crisis and encourage constructive diplomacy.
