The Bahrain Judo Federation launched its 2024–2028 cycle with a renewed commitment to sporting excellence. Dr. Faisal Khalid Kanoo, President of the Federation and Vice President of the Bahrain Combat Sports Council, led the first board meeting with clear goals.

At the meeting’s opening, Dr. Kanoo welcomed new board members and congratulated them on their appointments. He expressed deep appreciation for the confidence shown by Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad. This trust, according to Dr. Kanoo, will drive the Federation’s mission to elevate Bahraini judo worldwide.

He also conveyed the congratulations of Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed, Vice President of the General Sports Authority. The support from top sports leaders in Bahrain underscored the strategic importance of judo’s development.

The board quickly moved to assign administrative roles. Abdulrahman Faqihi was named Vice President and head of two major committees. Hakim Al-Sardi will serve as Secretary and lead finance and public relations. Abdullah Al-Mannai will oversee competitions and talent development.

During the meeting, the board discussed the national team’s performance at the recent Asian Championship in Bangkok. That success boosted morale and inspired the board to aim higher in upcoming events. Preparation for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics was also on the agenda.

The board emphasized the importance of teamwork and unity. Dr. Kanoo called on everyone to focus on building Bahraini judo worldwide through structured planning and continuous effort. Every committee was urged to collaborate closely and stay mission-focused.

They also reviewed plans for local tournaments and training programs. These events will play a vital role in shaping the future of judo in Bahrain.
