Hamza Al-Kooheji’s Triumphant Return Sparks Excitement for 2025

The Sheikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Center for Culture and Research will host the launch of Drawings, Books, and Embroidery, a new book by artist Christine Khenji, on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The event is part of the center’s ongoing cultural season, themed “Don’t Regret the War That Made You Mature.” It will be featured in the 19th edition of the Spring of Culture festival.

The book explores Khenji’s artistic journey, spanning five decades of creative work. It includes insights into her exploration of myths, prehistory, and transformation. These elements highlight her diverse approach to art. Khenji’s work transitions between drawing, painting, and creating art books. Eventually, she incorporates embroidery. Her self-portraits, along with her use of textiles and paper, reflect her unique style. They blend self-discovery and memories shaped by her experiences in Bahrain, Iran, France, and India.
