Minister of Finance Attends Lebanon Recovery and Reconstruction Roundtable in Washington

Qatar’s Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari participated in the “Lebanon Financing Recovery and Reconstruction” roundtable. It was held as part of the Lebanon Emergency Assistance Project during the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group (WBG).

The roundtable focused on supporting Lebanon’s efforts to address economic and humanitarian challenges. It explored effective financing strategies for rapid recovery and sustainable reconstruction. Participants emphasized the importance of international cooperation and strengthened partnerships between donors and financial institutions.

During the discussions, the Minister reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to supporting Lebanon’s humanitarian and development initiatives. He expressed Qatar’s readiness to contribute to efforts aimed at promoting stability and prosperity in the region.

On the sidelines of the meetings, Al Kuwari also held talks with US Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent. The two officials discussed bilateral relations, economic developments, and opportunities for enhanced cooperation in investment and trade.
