The Qatar International Academy for Security Studies (QIASS), in partnership with the American Chamber of Commerce in Qatar (AmCham), concluded a specialized workshop titled “Balancing Innovation & Compliance in AI: A Practical Approach” at the QIASS Lusail Campus.
The event brought together key figures from the legal, business, and technology sectors. They explored the growing intersection between artificial intelligence (AI), innovation, and regulation. As AI continues to reshape global industries, the workshop aimed to equip regional professionals with practical tools. These tools were meant for managing compliance and responsible innovation.
Featured speaker Mohamed ElBaih, Visiting Scholar at The George Washington University Law School, shared expert insights into AI, privacy law, and cybersecurity policy. Participants explored AI risk management through frameworks like NIST. They also examined the implications of the EU AI Act. Additionally, strategies for developing adaptable governance models were discussed.
“Artificial intelligence is transforming not only how we operate but also how we think about governance and innovation,” said Hesham Elgamiel, Senior Director of Quality Control and Business Development at QIASS. “This workshop reflects our commitment to providing forward-thinking training. It supports responsible tech adoption and strengthens Qatar’s digital resilience.”
AmCham Qatar’s Executive Director, Xiomara Henriquez, welcomed the collaboration. She noted, “This initiative highlights the strength of US-Qatar partnerships. We are pleased to join QIASS in delivering knowledge-driven events. These events keep our business community competitive and compliant with international standards.”
This session follows a series of high-impact programs offered by QIASS. It includes a cybersecurity seminar held last December. Additionally, more workshops are scheduled throughout 2025. QIASS continues expanding its leadership in digital governance and security training across the region.
