American Creativity Academy Students Visit Kuwait Times for Immersive Journalism Experience

Students from the American Creativity Academy visited the headquarters of Kuwait Times and Kuwait News on Wednesday for an educational field trip aimed at introducing them to the world of journalism and media production.

The students were warmly welcomed by the Kuwait Times team, who guided them through various departments, offering hands-on insights into the operations of a modern newsroom—spanning both print and digital media platforms.

During the tour, Content Creator Dhoha Al-Issa demonstrated how social media videos are filmed for Kuwait Times’ online presence, showcasing the behind-the-scenes creative process. The group then proceeded to the editorial department, where Deputy Managing Editor Faten Omar explained the fundamentals of news gathering, writing, and editing.

Students also explored Kuwait’s rich media history with Digital Creator Yousef Abu Ghazaleh, who led them through the Kuwait Times archive room, offering a glimpse into the newspaper’s decades-long legacy.

A highlight of the tour was a visit to the printing press, where Head of the Printing Department Al-Watheq Bellah Darwish walked students through the full printing process, demonstrating how the newspaper is physically produced and maintained.

The visit concluded at the Kuwait Times’ studio, where students filmed a short segment alongside Al-Issa, learning how the publication is adapting to the fast-changing landscape of social media journalism.

The interactive experience left students with a deeper appreciation for the evolving role of media and journalism in shaping public discourse and information sharing in the digital age.
