Oman and Japan Hold 7th Session of Political Talks in Tokyo

The Sultanate of Oman and Japan held the 7th session of their political talks on Thursday at the headquarters of Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This further strengthened their diplomatic engagement and cooperation.

Sheikh Khalifa Ali Al Harthy, Undersecretary of the Foreign Ministry for Political Affairs, led the Omani delegation. Ando Toshihide, Assistant Minister for Middle Eastern and African Affairs, headed the Japanese side.

The discussions focused on reviewing the strong bilateral ties between the two countries. They also identified opportunities to deepen cooperation across various sectors. Both sides exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

On the sidelines of the visit, Sheikh Khalifa delivered a seminar at the Omani Embassy in Tokyo. He highlighted Omani-Japanese relations and recent developments in the Middle East. The seminar was attended by prominent Japanese politicians, business leaders, and academics.

Dr. Mohammed Said Al Busaidi, Ambassador of Oman to Japan, and Sheikh Abdulaziz Mohammed Al Hosni, Head of the Asia Pacific Department at Oman’s Foreign Ministry, were also present. Several senior officials from both nations attended as well.

The political dialogue reflects the growing strategic partnership between Oman and Japan. It demonstrates their shared commitment to fostering peace, stability, and economic cooperation.
