Bahrain Leads Smart Urban Growth with Vision and Innovation

Bahrain builds smart, sustainable cities with strong leadership and a future-focused vision. The nation continues to advance urban innovation. This was clear during the Bahrain Smart Cities Conference and Exhibition 2025, which opened on April 15.

Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, inaugurated the event. He emphasized Bahrain’s confidence in building modern cities. These cities will feature advanced infrastructure and integrated services.

He stressed that Bahrain aligns its growth with future goals and present needs. His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa leads this transformation. Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa also follows up on every milestone.

Shaikh Khalid highlighted the government’s ongoing investment in city development. He pointed to smart planning and high-level service readiness. These elements help create inclusive, safe, and green urban environments.

Bahrain builds smart, sustainable cities through teamwork. Public and private sectors have partnered to deliver key urban solutions. These efforts convert obstacles into lasting opportunities.

This year’s event brought together experts, officials, and industry leaders from across the globe. The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture hosted the two-day conference. The theme focused on “Smart Cities and Sustainable Growth.”

Participants discussed new urban strategies and digital solutions. Several award-winning projects were also recognized. These included innovations in AI, waste management, and clean energy.

Bahrain’s achievements in this sector have gained global praise. The country ranked 36th in the IMD Smart Cities Index for 2024. This ranking reflects Bahrain’s excellence in smart governance and digital services.

His Excellency Minister Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak praised Bahrain’s national vision. He confirmed the country’s focus on high-quality urban planning. This approach blends innovation with strong social values.

Finally, Bahrain builds smart, sustainable cities to ensure a bright future for the next generation. The country’s plans support progress, people, and the planet—together.
