Eid Travel Surge: Qatar Rail Carries Over 1.8 Million Riders

Qatar Rail has reported a major spike in passenger traffic during the Eid Al Fitr holidays, with more than 1.8 million people using its transport services. This surge highlights the public’s growing trust in the efficiency and reliability of the nation’s rail networks.

During the holiday period, the Doha Metro transported approximately 1.7 million passengers. The Lusail Tram added another 110,000 riders to the total count. Together, these systems carried a staggering 1,810,000 people, showing just how vital public transit has become during peak times.

Qatar Rail praised the seamless and safe operation of both networks throughout the holiday rush. The statement reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to maintaining high standards. It also supports daily commuters and holiday travelers alike.

The busiest stations during the Eid holidays were Legtaifiya, DECC, and Al Aziziyah. These hubs experienced a sharp rise in foot traffic. This reflects their importance as key transit points within the metro and tram systems.

This impressive ridership boost reflects a continued increase in public transport use during national celebrations. The convenience of the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram systems continues to draw more people each year. This is especially true during high-demand periods like Eid.

Qatar Rail continues to focus on passenger comfort, security, and accessibility. With well-timed trains, clean stations, and user-friendly facilities, the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram offer an easy and efficient alternative to driving.

The Eid success also hints at Qatar Rail’s growing role in the country’s broader development goals. As more residents and visitors embrace public transportation, the system’s value in easing road congestion and supporting environmental sustainability becomes more evident.

With each event, Qatar Rail proves it can handle large-scale operations smoothly. The strong performance of the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram during Eid sets a high standard for future public transit services across the country.
