Bahrain to Honor Legacy of Mohammed Al Majid with Week-Long Cultural Tribute

Bahrain’s cultural scene is preparing for a meaningful tribute to one of its most cherished writers. Starting this April, the Kingdom will host a week dedicated to celebrating Bahraini literary heritage through the legacy of Mohammed Al Majid.

The commemorative week includes two major events highlighting the late writer’s impact on literature and journalism. The first event is scheduled for April 14. The Bahraini Writers and Authors Association will host the launch of a new book titled Mohammed Al Majid: The Wild, Tame Pen.

The book, written by journalist Osama Mohammed Al Majid, offers an insightful look into the life of the renowned Bahraini writer. It traces his most significant literary moments and his deep influence on journalism. Dr. Fahad Hussain will lead the discussion during the launch and share critical reflections on the book’s themes.

The second event will follow on April 22. The Kanoo Cultural Center will host a symposium titled Mohammed Al Majid: A Biography of Unquenchable Light. This gathering will bring together key voices from Bahrain’s literary community.

Poet Ali Abdullah Khalifa, Dr. Rashid Najm, Professor Moanes Al Mardi, and writer Osama Al Majid will all participate. Renowned poet Nadia Al Malah will moderate the discussion, guiding the audience through a rich exploration of Al Majid’s legacy.

Each event reflects Bahrain’s ongoing effort in celebrating Bahraini literary heritage through honoring figures who shaped its cultural identity. These gatherings offer readers and scholars a space to revisit Al Majid’s creative journey.

Mohammed Al Majid’s words left a mark on generations. His work blended intellect with emotion, passion with precision. This tribute week is more than remembrance—it’s about celebrating Bahraini literary heritage with pride and gratitude.
