Bahrain’s Cabinet Approves Draft Law for State General Budget 2025-2026

Bahrain’s Cabinet, chaired by His Excellency Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, held its weekly meeting at Gudaibiya Palace. During this meeting, the Cabinet discussed various national issues and affirmed its commitment to comprehensive development. One key item on the agenda was the approval of the draft law for the State General Budget for the fiscal years 2025-2026.

Eid Al-Fitr Greetings and Royal Directives

The Cabinet began the meeting by extending warm Eid Al-Fitr greetings to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The Cabinet prayed for blessings, prosperity, and goodness for the Kingdom and its people.

The Council also expressed its deep appreciation for His Majesty the King’s royal directives. His Majesty has called for accelerating housing projects to provide 50,000 housing units. The Cabinet praised the government’s efforts to implement these projects quickly and efficiently. Additionally, the Cabinet emphasized the importance of improving key sectors such as education and health to meet national aspirations.

Continued Efforts for Development and National Cohesion

The Cabinet highlighted the ongoing efforts to meet Bahrain’s economic and social needs. It commended His Majesty’s engagement with citizens during the holy month of Ramadan, as well as His Royal Highness the Crown Prince’s visits to Ramadan Majlises. These actions embody Bahrain’s tradition of open communication between leadership and the people.

The Council also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Bahrain’s youth. It acknowledged Bahraini Youth Day, celebrated on March 25th, as a vital part of the Kingdom’s development. The Cabinet pledged to continue supporting initiatives promoting love, tolerance, and peace, in line with Bahrain’s international humanitarian role.

State General Budget and Government Priorities

A key highlight of the meeting was the draft law on the State General Budget for the fiscal years 2025-2026. The budget focuses on strengthening Bahrain’s financial sustainability while meeting the aspirations of its citizens. Key priorities in the budget include improving government services, supporting the education sector, and accelerating housing projects. The government also plans to develop infrastructure, expand educational services, and improve health services for citizens.

In this regard, the Cabinet expressed its appreciation for the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s efforts in consulting with the legislative authority. The draft budget reflects close cooperation between the executive and legislative branches, ensuring alignment with national priorities.

Bahrain’s Global Initiatives

Lastly, the Cabinet reiterated Bahrain’s commitment to global initiatives, including its support for the International Day of Conscience and efforts to combat climate change. The Kingdom continues to lead efforts to promote peace, tolerance, and environmental sustainability.

Overall, the Cabinet’s meeting reinforced Bahrain’s commitment to growth, cooperation, and the well-being of its citizens. The State General Budget for the fiscal years 2025-2026 is a significant step in achieving these goals.
