Bahraini Society for Women’s Development Elects New Board of Directors for 2025-2026

On Monday, February 17, 2025, the Bahraini Society for Women’s Development held its eleventh general assembly. The primary goal of this meeting was to elect the new board of directors for the upcoming 2025-2026 session. Previous members of the board and society members attended the gathering. Ms. Khadija Al Sayed, the Society’s President, opened the meeting with a speech. She warmly welcomed the attendees and reflected on the Society’s remarkable achievements over the past 22 years.

Ms. Al Sayed emphasized that the Society’s progress was driven by a clear strategy and the dedication of its members and administrators. She highlighted how these efforts have benefitted women and their families across Bahrain. The Society’s vision focuses on fostering effective, sustainable leadership among women. This vision has led to numerous initiatives, projects, and partnerships that have positively impacted Bahraini women’s development within their community.

Over the last two years, the Society has made significant strides. It won the prestigious Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa Award for the Best Voluntary Project for Women’s Quality of Life (Afiya). It also earned accreditation to the ISO 26000 standard for social responsibility. Furthermore, the Society launched various programs that encouraged values such as citizenship, belonging, and the spirit of giving, further establishing itself as a key player in the advancement of women’s development in Bahrain.

During the meeting, Ms. Nadia Siyadi, the Association’s secretary, presented the literary report for the years 2023-2024. This report highlighted the most important achievements aligned with the Society’s strategic objectives. Ms. Suad Jabara, the financial secretary, also presented the financial report, providing transparency on the Society’s finances, which is crucial for the development initiatives.

At the meeting’s conclusion, the resignation of the previous board was announced. The members voted to endorse the new board for the 2025-2026 term. The members expressed strong support for the current board, showing confidence in its ability to lead the Society to new accomplishments. The election results confirmed the following appointments:

  • Ms. Khadija Ali Al Sayed, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors
  • Shaikha Lubna bint Abdullah Al Khalifa, Vice Chairwoman
  • Ms. Nadia Siyadi, Secretary
  • Ms. Suad Ibrahim Jabara, Treasurer
  • Shaikha Shaikha bint Abdullah Al Khalifa, Shaikha Najat bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Dr. Samia Abdulrahman Al-Jowder, Ms. Amal Abdulrahman Al-Thawadi, and Ms. Maryam Reda Al-Ansari as members.

The newly elected board members affirmed their commitment to the Society’s vision. They plan to continue their social responsibility efforts and work on development projects for women and their families. The board of the Bahraini Society for Women’s Development will use innovative methods to achieve its goals, collaborating with partners and supporters to make a lasting impact.
