Kuwait Health Minister Approves New Prices for 146 Medicines and Supplements

Kuwait’s Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, has approved updated pricing for 146 medicines, pharmaceutical preparations, and nutritional supplements in the private healthcare sector. The decision, based on recommendations from the Drug Pricing Committee, reflects the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to control treatment costs and ease the financial burden on patients.

Ministerial Resolutions No. 45 and 46 of 2025 confirm the Ministry’s commitment to regularly reviewing drug prices and improving the healthcare system. The new pricing will be implemented immediately upon publication in the Official Gazette and is incorporated into Ministerial Resolution No. 74 of 2023. This move is designed to ensure that Kuwait’s pharmaceutical policies remain aligned, promoting market stability and better access to high-quality healthcare products.

The Ministry of Health has emphasized that the Drug Pricing Committee will continue its work to evaluate and approve prices based on thorough scientific and economic assessments. This approach seeks to balance cost efficiency with the availability of effective, high-quality medicines, supporting the Ministry’s goal of advancing Kuwait’s healthcare system in line with international standards.
