Prohibition on Service Cuts During Specific Hours and Days in Oman

The Authority for Public Services Regulation (APSR) in Oman has announced new rules regarding service disconnections. During its annual meeting on Monday, APSR clarified that cutting off essential services, like water and electricity, is prohibited during certain times. This decision aims to ensure that citizens always have access to these utilities when they need them most.

According to APSR, service cutoffs cannot occur on the last working day of the weekend, which is Thursday. The regulations also state that disconnections are not allowed during weekly holidays, including Friday and Saturday. Additionally, the authority prohibits cutting off services between 5 pm and 7 am. This rule guarantees that people have water and electricity during evenings and early mornings when they are at home.

The APSR also addressed key dates in the country’s calendar. During the General Education Diploma (GED) exams, the authority banned service disconnections. Students need a calm, stable environment to focus, and uninterrupted services help create that setting. Similarly, during the month of Ramadan, the APSR ensures that essential services remain active. Many families fast during this holy month, so having reliable access to utilities is crucial.

The new regulations aim to reduce unnecessary disruptions during times when people need their services most. APSR’s decisions show its commitment to providing reliable services for all residents. The public has welcomed this update, appreciating the authority’s proactive approach.

These rules reflect APSR’s understanding of the public’s needs and its efforts to create a more dependable system. By enforcing these restrictions, Oman ensures its residents can rely on water and electricity when they need them most. This will enhance the daily lives of people across the country.

In conclusion, the APSR’s regulations help keep essential services uninterrupted during important times. This step shows the authority’s dedication to improving the quality of life for all citizens. By creating clearer guidelines, APSR helps foster a stable and predictable environment for families, students, and workers alike.
