Lebanon and Kuwait have reaffirmed their historic ties and commitment to stronger cooperation. Both countries also emphasized the importance of regional stability. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun highlighted these priorities during a meeting with Kuwait’s ambassador, Mohammad Al-Sharji, on Friday.
The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace in Baabda. According to the Lebanese Presidency, Aoun stressed the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation across various sectors. He also reaffirmed Lebanon’s solidarity with Kuwait on matters concerning its security and stability.
Furthermore, Aoun thanked Kuwait’s leadership, government and people for their continued support. He expressed appreciation for the assistance provided to Lebanon. He also conveyed his greetings to Kuwait’s leadership through the ambassador, wishing the country continued prosperity, progress and stability.
During the meeting, Al-Sharji delivered greetings from Kuwait’s senior leadership. These included Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. He also conveyed greetings from Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
The ambassador reiterated Kuwait’s support for Lebanon, its government and official institutions. Moreover, he emphasized the importance of protecting Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He also highlighted efforts to strengthen security and maintain stability throughout the country.
Kuwait further supports efforts to extend the Lebanese state’s authority across all its territory. This position reflects the importance both countries place on national sovereignty and institutional stability.
