Kuwait Condemnation of Houthi Attacks

Kuwait Condemnation followed continued Houthi attacks targeting Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and other areas across Saudi Arabia. Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry described the attacks as a dangerous escalation that threatens the sanctity of Islamic holy sites.

The ministry said attacks against Makkah and Madinah provoke Muslims worldwide and violate the protected status of the two holy cities. It also condemned attacks against Riyadh and other Saudi cities, along with strikes affecting civilians and civilian facilities.

Furthermore, Kuwait criticized attacks against economic facilities and vessels operating in the Red Sea and Bab el-Mandab Strait. The ministry warned that such actions could increase regional tensions and create additional risks for maritime security.

Kuwait also rejected what it described as repeated hostile attacks against Saudi Arabia and its territory. The ministry said those actions violate Saudi sovereignty and conflict with international law and international humanitarian law.

Meanwhile, Kuwait reaffirmed its support for Yemen’s legitimate government and the country’s sovereignty. It also emphasized Yemen’s independence and territorial integrity while restating its position on the country’s political future.

Kuwait Condemnation also included recognition of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to support a political settlement in Yemen. The ministry highlighted Saudi efforts since 2014 to promote a comprehensive and lasting solution to the conflict.

According to the ministry, those efforts follow the established political references for resolving Yemen’s crisis. Kuwait also recognized Saudi Arabia’s role in leading the coalition that supports Yemen’s legitimate government.

The Kuwaiti government then called on the United Nations Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities regarding the situation. It specifically urged the council to implement relevant resolutions addressing Yemen and regional security.

Kuwait highlighted Security Council resolutions 2216 and 2817 as particularly important in addressing the ongoing crisis. The ministry urged international institutions to uphold their responsibilities and support measures aimed at regional stability.

The statement also addressed Saudi Arabia’s security concerns following the repeated attacks. Kuwait expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and supported measures aimed at protecting its territory and population.

In addition, Kuwait backed Saudi efforts to protect citizens and residents from attacks and security threats. The ministry stressed that Saudi Arabia’s security directly connects with Kuwait’s own national security interests.

Kuwait also linked Saudi security with the broader security of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The ministry emphasized that threats against one Gulf state can affect the wider regional security environment.

The statement comes as attacks involving Saudi cities, infrastructure, and maritime routes continue to raise regional security concerns. Kuwait’s position therefore focused on sovereignty, civilian protection, maritime safety, and the security of holy sites.

Kuwait Condemnation extended beyond individual attacks and addressed the broader security implications of the ongoing escalation. The ministry warned that continued attacks could threaten regional stability and maritime movement.

The Kuwaiti statement also reaffirmed the country’s diplomatic position regarding Yemen’s sovereignty and legitimate government. At the same time, Kuwait continued to support international efforts toward a comprehensive political settlement.

Kuwait urged international institutions to apply existing resolutions and strengthen efforts toward regional stability. The ministry also reiterated its support for Saudi Arabia’s right to protect its territory and population.

The statement reflects Kuwait’s broader concern over attacks affecting Saudi territory, civilians, infrastructure, and important maritime routes. It also underscores Kuwait’s position that regional security requires respect for national sovereignty and international law.

Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry concluded by emphasizing solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for measures protecting its security. The ministry maintained that Saudi security remains closely connected to Kuwait and the wider GCC security framework.
