The first campaign involves selected Lexus NX vehicles manufactured between 2021 and 2023, with around 417 vehicles potentially affected in the UAE. A separate campaign covers Toyota Crown vehicles manufactured between 2022 and 2024, along with Toyota bZ4X models manufactured between 2021 and 2023.
The Toyota campaign covers approximately 475 vehicles across the two affected models. Together, the two campaigns account for the 892 vehicles included in the recall. The company said the corrective action focuses on updating programming connected to the vehicles’ front recognition camera.
According to the recall information, a rare software issue could corrupt the camera’s memory when drivers switch off their vehicles. If the problem occurs, the camera may not operate correctly when the vehicle starts again. As a result, the vehicle’s pre-collision system may fail to operate as intended.
