Bahrain Tax Evasion Trial Involves Three Executives and Foreign Firm

Judicial proceedings began in High Criminal Court regarding a major Bahrain tax evasion case involving fifty-two thousand dinars. Prosecutors charged three foreign executives and a foreign branch firm with failing to settle value-added tax payments. Furthermore, corporate representatives filed eleven periodic tax reports between 2022 and 2025 without transferring owed revenues. Consequently, judicial authorities initiated criminal proceedings after tax enforcement officials forwarded the failure-to-pay complaint directly to court.

The company general manager testified that the firm reached a structured installment settlement with revenue authorities. However, commercial registration suspensions and frozen bank accounts subsequently halted company operations and blocked further payments. Furthermore, the defense executive stated that the firm maintains sufficient corporate capital to clear outstanding tax balances. Therefore, the defense requested an official administrative delay to unfreeze corporate accounts and pay the remaining debt.

The original company founder previously received a fraud conviction in 2023 and subsequently departed the country. Parent company directors then appointed new authorized signatories to manage outstanding creditor debts and government liabilities. Furthermore, the general manager stated that he lacked direct access to financial administration and corporate bank accounts. Consequently, defense lawyers requested judicial consideration regarding administrative authority structures within the foreign corporate entity.

Judicial officials formally adjourned the ongoing court trial until August 24 to review upcoming defense statements. Meanwhile, prosecutors maintain that all listed authorized corporate signatories share direct legal accountability for corporate tax compliance. Furthermore, authorities continue enforcing strict tax collection deadlines to preserve financial transparency across all commercial sectors. Ultimately, resolving the current Bahrain tax evasion charges depends on evaluating individual administrative responsibilities and corporate financial assets.
