Asset management training for UAE federal employees will expand under a new programme focused on technology, planning, and performance. The initiative will cover artificial intelligence, risk management, lifecycle planning, and international asset management standards. Moreover, participants will gain practical skills to support stronger decision-making across federal government institutions.
The UAE Ministry of Finance launched the programme through a strategic partnership with specialist international organisations. The partnership will provide professional training and certifications for employees across federal entities. Furthermore, participants will learn methods for planning, assessing, and improving government assets throughout their operational lifecycles.
The training will cover lifecycle management, risk assessment, performance improvement, strategic planning, and sustainable asset value. Artificial intelligence will also feature prominently, reflecting the growing role of advanced technology in government operations. Consequently, officials expect the programme to improve analysis, planning, and resource management.
Participants will also study the ISO 55000 series, which provides internationally recognised principles for asset management. Training will take place through in-person, remote, and hybrid formats, depending on individual government requirements. This flexible approach will allow federal entities to maintain operations while developing employee capabilities.
The partnership also aims to transfer international expertise and established practices to UAE government professionals. Additionally, participants will have opportunities to obtain recognised certifications alongside specialised training. As a result, employees can strengthen their technical qualifications while applying global standards within federal institutions.
The Ministry of Finance said the initiative supports efforts to strengthen government financial management and institutional performance. Officials also highlighted the importance of developing national expertise in modern asset management practices. Therefore, the programme could help federal entities make more efficient decisions and manage resources more effectively.
Artificial intelligence can support data analysis, forecasting, risk identification, and performance monitoring across government asset portfolios. However, the programme combines technological tools with strategic planning and professional judgement. This approach allows employees to consider costs, risks, efficiency, and long-term value when managing government assets.
The agreement was signed at the Ministry of Finance headquarters in Dubai by Younis Haji AlKhoori, the ministry’s undersecretary. Turner & Townsend International’s UAE country manager also signed the agreement during the ceremony. Ministry officials and specialists attended the signing and discussed the programme’s objectives.
Officials expect the initiative to strengthen professional standards while encouraging more consistent asset management practices. Furthermore, international certifications could help federal employees apply recognised approaches across different government entities. The programme ultimately supports the UAE’s wider efforts to improve efficiency, technology adoption, and long-term government planning.
