Saudi FM Discusses Regional Security With Qatar, UK

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held a series of phone calls with his counterparts from Qatar, Kuwait and the United Kingdom to discuss regional developments, bilateral ties and efforts to strengthen security and stability.

During separate conversations with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prince Faisal reviewed the latest developments across the region and discussed closer coordination to support regional peace and security.

The ministers also condemned attacks carried out by Iran and Iran-backed armed groups in Yemen and Iraq targeting Saudi Arabia and other countries in the region, reaffirming the importance of joint efforts to address regional security challenges.

Prince Faisal also spoke with the United Kingdom’s Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, Ed Miliband, congratulating him on his appointment and expressing Saudi Arabia’s commitment to further strengthening relations between the two countries.

According to the Saudi Foreign Ministry, Miliband also condemned attacks by Iran-backed groups in Yemen against Saudi Arabia and other regional states, reaffirming the UK’s solidarity with the Kingdom.

The two ministers reviewed bilateral relations, exchanged views on the latest regional developments and discussed ways to enhance cooperation in support of regional and international security and stability.
